One-On-One Coaching
We live in challenging times, ripe with both personal possibilities and numerous transitions. If you're an overwhelmed professional, overworked executive or challenged leader struggling through a transition or trying to maintain and expand your success while balancing your work and life – one on one coaching may be just what you are looking for. Rather than settling for what you think you can have, coaching can help you choose and create what it is that you want - but first you need a plan. I work with my clients to integrate the following six keys to help them manage life transitions and achieve their objectives.

Know where you are.
Using the Balance Wheel Tool, the coaching work begins with assessing how satisfied you are with the various aspects of your life including career, relationships, finances, personal growth, health and wellness and more.

Determine where you are going.
Once we have assessed where you are in the various aspects of your life, the next step in the coaching process helps you honestly answer the question " What it is that you really want and what does your soul yearn for?"

Get in touch with the flow and the natural rhythm of life.
There's a time in everyones life when they experienced an effortless quality. A time when they instinctively knew what to do. This part of the coaching process provides the clues that allow you to move back into that natural rhythm when life just seemed to flow.

Discover your formula to personal freedom.
Having reflected on those times in your life in step 3 where life seemed to flow effortlessly, this phase of the coaching supports you in reflecting upon the inner qualities (such as curiosity, playfulness and openness) that enabled you to have those experiencs. Through coaching, we discover and develop your formula to personal freedom, which is rooted in those inner qualities.

Create your blueprint for success.
Once you have discovered those inner assets and qualities that are the key components to your formula to personal freedom, it’s time to create the blueprint that you can follow so that you can again flow with the natural rhythm of life.

Walk in Freedom.
The coaching work we have done has created an empowering partnership, which along the way will have supported, challenged and stimulated you, so that your life and transitions have become a journey of discovery rather than a story of struggle. This last phase of the coaching process shows you how to make this journey an ongoing part of your life.

Sometimes what gets in the way of our having the life we want is staying stuck in our comfort zones. This six step coaching process can help you get unstuck, move through your life's transitions with more ease, and truly know what it means to be dancing on the river of life . The Six Key Elements to Navigating Life's Changes

Our lives are constantly changing. What’s important to us changes and our careers and relationships are continually shifting. We need to develop the life skills and tools necessary to embrace these transitions. You can have that successful career and joy that comes from doing something masterfully. You can create that fulfilling relationship with a significant other that keeps evolving. You can wake up in the morning excited again.

To do this you must develop the practices and tools to embrace these challenges rather than avoid or react to them. In this presentation you will learn the six key elements that will transform your relationship with change. Your life can become an exciting journey of discovery, rather than one of struggle and resistance.

Topics include:
  • Live your life from your center by making time for reflection
  • Be true to yourself and your values beyond your business
  • Let go of resistance and take the first steps towards what you want
  • Create goals and challenges that get you out of your comfort zone
  • Practice gratitude by focusing on what you have, not what you don't
  • Develop the mind-set of being comfortable with the unknown

Success Is More Than Making Money

Success is more than making money and being recognized for a job well done.
It's more than a stellar career and a nice house. It’s about liking who you are, having loving relationships and spending time doing the things that are the most important to you. If you are successful in your career but don’t have the time to share your success with loved ones, you are missing out on one of life's joys.

This presentation will help you discover how to have an integrated life and make your whole life an exciting journey of discovery, adventure and connection.

Topics include:
  • Start your day, so it sets a tone of calm and clarity
  • Make time for the jollies everyday – those things that give you joy
  • Learn how to recognize your VOJ (voice of judgment)
  • Cultivate an internal voice of inspiration
  • Develop the Practice of Curiosity
  • Make connecting with others a priority

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a coaching candidate?

Anyone who is ready to change the quality of their life. But in doing so, they must be ready to overcome their resistance to changing the way they have been doing things. They must have an openness and willingness to explore new possibilities and invest in themselves. My mission is to exceed your expectations. I say to people." Give yourself the Gift of Coaching."

When is a good time to begin?

The most common objection that I hear to beginning a coaching relationship is that now is not a good time…perhaps a few months from now will be better. But we all know that in a few months there will be other reasons and excuses not to begin. Because you are reading this it tells me that you are curious to what the benefits are in having a coaching relationship and there is no better time than now!

How long does the coaching relationship last?

The duration of a coaching relationship like most other relationships depends on what both parties are getting from the relationship. As long as there is value the coaching relationship deepens and what is possible in your life expands. There is an initial three month commitment but most relationships extend much longer. Sessions are usually 40 minutes and are either on the phone or in person.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

The emphasis in therapy is on healing old wounds from the past that are preventing you living a normal productive life. Usually these wounds are a result of past traumas or emotional issues. In contrast, the basic tenet of coaching is that you are whole, creative and resourceful the way you are now. Coaching is future oriented and getting you to look at what is possible in your life. The focus then becomes on what actions you can take to transform your life from ordinary to extraordinary. Coaching and therapy do complement each other and it is not uncommon for a person to be involved in both processes. Occasionally I refer clients to therapists.

What is the difference between coaching and consulting?

If we want to play golf, we might hire a consultant to help us find the best equipment and best places to play. Once we have the best equipment and know where to play we hire a coach so that we can play better. A coach helps us have focus and discipline so that we can keep expanding and evolving our abilities to be better golfers and to enjoy our experience of the game. A coach helps us be the best we can be.
